The latest picture of Bryce and Benaldo. The mug shots are the first pictures we saw of the boys on Wasatch's web site. The photo of them together was taken by Frank, before they knew they would one day be brothers. We are so excited to be bringing home Bryce, but sad his brother will not be here with him any time soon. Benaldo is in school and loves it. We will all get to spend a week together in July.
Yesterday we received Bryce's medical insurance card. It is the first official document we have with his name, Bryce Boulton. I am packed and ready to go pick him up, we are just waiting on the call from our agency. It could be this week, it could be a month from now, either way we are ready to be first time parents.

Bryce

Oh, our handsome little guy is getting so big. In the first photo he is watching us talk to him via web, today. The other picture is of him last week when our friend Chareyl from Wasatch stopped bye 3As. He and Layla are so sweet together. Then there is the one of the first time he feel asleep on me, the first day we met. The last one is one of him as a baby.
We are praying for our photo update on Benaldo this week. Love to all. Robb and Holly

Thank you for still checking up on our website. We have tried to keep a low profile since Benaldo was taken back by his mother. We found him about three weeks after his mother had taken him back. We felt and still feel that we are responsible for the care and well being of Benaldo. If that meant taking on the care of his whole family, we where going to do so. When he was found, his mother was so thankful because she had not been able to feed her children for 5 days. She is in very poor health, and Benaldo’s dad is no longer supporting her and their 3 other children. She still wanted to give Benaldo up for adoption, but was not will to take him back to the original orphanage. So we found another orphanage willing to take him in.
Robb and I were able to go spend a week with him in October. His health is great and he has developed a little attitude since the last time I saw him in April, which I love. He is still really sweet 90% of the time. He still loves to cuddle. He and Robb are quite the pair. The first night I put Benaldo to bed, he started whimpering “Papa Papa”. He wanted Robb to be on the other side of him while he fell asleep. The next morning he woke up looked around, and got the biggest grin and just snuggled in with us. I am amazed how much he loves us and trust us. It was the hardest goodbye yet. But we are so thankful to God for all the friends we have meet since we started this whole adoption. With out the joint effort of so many people, we would not have been able to find, nor adopt Benaldo. His adoption will not be compleete for a while, but we thank God every day for the many blessings when it comes to Benaldo.
I just returned from spending a week with Bryce. It was such a wonderful week filled with tons of laughs, love, old friends and new friends. Bryce is doing so well. At first he would not come to me for about thirty minutes. Every time I looked at him he would cover his eyes with his chubby little hands and watch me through his fingers. He is very bull headed, which I love. He reminds me of my sister who has to set back and observe people to decide weather or not she wants to associate with that individual. After all the other little kids had taken turns on my lap he decided I was ok. He is 100% boy. On the go, loves to explore, play with rocks and glasses of water, chase chickens and climb up and down stairs. He not a big fan of cuddling, but gives the best 5 second hugs. His adoption is moving along. We just got out of Parquet last week, which means we are almost done with the Haitian side of the adoption.
Love to all. Thank you for all the calls and emails filled with support.
Sincerely,
Holly Boulton

A Father's Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Please send Benaldo back to our family if it be your will.
Please watch over and protect Benaldo.
We ask the Holy Spirit to comfort him
and surround him in the light of Christ.
Let him know of our Love for him and
that he will always be apart
of our Forever Family.
Please help us to understand your plan
for Benaldo, and our Family.
We truly Love You Benaldo, you have changed
our Hearts and our Lives Forever.
Jesus, I Love thee so much and surrender
my boy Benaldo to you,
my Family and my broken heart to you.
This I pray, in the name of My Lord
and Savor, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Benaldo, You will always be my son
no matter where you are,
that I Promise you.
I Love you,
Robb Your Father in California

July 3, 2007

Today we called to wish Benaldo happy birthday, and found out he is no longer at 3As. You-You and I cried and she told me his mother took him back yesterday. Robb and I feel mostly sad for him and what he must be going through. He has been fed and loved by 3As staff for almost two years. The only thing at this point we feel angered about is, we were not able to get the proper blessing for him when I was in Haiti last time. It is something we believe strongly in doing for our children. We pray God watches over his amazing little spirit and keeps him and his mother, father, brother and sister safe. I pray Robb and I to be Christ like and find peace in the lesson before us. Thank you to all our friends and family who we know are also feeling a loss today.
Love Robb and Holly

Melt Down

Fiona shared these photos Shannon had just sent her, and I had a complete melt down. Benaldo just looks like he needs me as much as I need him. 37 days until I get to hold them didn't seem so bad yesterday, but today 36 days feels like a life time from now. Then we found out that Benaldo's birth mother is not willing to go to her DHS appointment now. I try to looked at it from her side because I have never had a child, nor had to give up a child, so I have no idea how painful that must be. We just pray that God will soften her heart and change her mind. Gail is hopeful that if she does not change her mind, 3As will be able to consider him abandoned and proceed from that point. Today I hate adoption. In 36 days I will not even remember this day

Recap of April's
The second trip was wonderful. While I was there I got to see the boys interact more with their play mates and Nannies. This allowed me to see more of their individual personalities.
Benaldo is so sweet, but keeps everyone (the nursery kids) in line. He has the sweetest laugh and a soft rusky voice. His smile is the best when he is interacting with Montu; he gets this shy smile that’s priceless. He loves to sing and play with cords. He got upset because I ran upstairs with Bryce to grab something, and left him with the group for a minute. No big deal, but two hours latter he was still so sad. The look on his face just broke my heart. After he napped, his smile came back. Very sensitive to all the younger children too, if they are crying he goes to see why. He likes one on one time; he is so snuggly when he wakes up and a little wild before he goes to bed.
Bryce is sweet, but all boy. Loves to climb anything and has no fear. Well that’s not true; he cry’s if I get out of his sight and cry’s if he sees is birth Mother. Benaldo was the only other child he would let me hold. Any one else he would try to push or pull off of me. He loves to sing, and his voice is so deep. They loved to run once we left the Orphanage. They were scared of the chickens in the street, but on the last full day Bryce started chasing one of the chickens. He was laughing so hard while he was chasing the chicken; I wish I had a video of it. He loves Benaldo so much. One morning he got up first, put his face next to sleeping Benaldo and screamed “Benaaallddooo” So much for one on one time with Bryce.
I was blessed to have Max to interpret Creole a few days. This allowed me to speak with the Nannies and the boys. Besides being with the boys, getting to talk with the Nannies was the highlight of my trip. Third highlight, Max took us to the LDS church on Sunday. What an undesirable experience. Many members spoke some English and thought Stephanie and I where the new sister missionaries coming to live in Haiti for 1 ½ years. Yeah right, I’m a little freaked out about being there 2 weeks. Going to 3As church service was wonderful. The sound of the staff and children singing gospel songs in Creole was breathtaking. Jimmy and Nathan (3As staff) where able to translate the service in English for us.
I can’t wait so see our little bundles of love again. My mother is going with me the first week. Then Robb will come the second week. I am so grateful to God for allowing this all to be possible. He has blessed me with an amazing Husband who loves these little guys and me so much. The support system God has created for us is unbelievable. Thank you to all of our families, friends and ward members for all your prayers and encouraging words of love and hope.

Holly with the boulton boys

Holly is in Haiti now with the boys and sicker than a dog.
Holly is having fun chasing the boys around, literally.
Benaldo is such a great big brother & Bryce as Holly says is soo naughty.
He will do the opposite of what Holly wants him to do and then laughs and grins.
